Portnoy's Complaint

Portnoy's Complaint [Link]

Sunday, January 10, 2016

Mike Portnoy was the drummer of Progressive Metal band "Dream Theater", until he was replaced by Mike Mangini in 2010.

The line "Hello mirror..." is from the song "This Dying Soul" from Dream Theater's seventh studio album "Train of Thought." It's also referenced in another DT song, "Repentance."

Both songs are part of Mike Portnoy's epic twelve-step suite, which he wrote about his experience with alcoholism, while he was in the band. Check it out here.

Mike Portnoy is one helluva drummer, but Mangini is fantastic as well.

Leon and me both tried to draw Professor Layton and his young assistant (apprentice number one) Luke Triton, from the successful Level-5 series of video games.

Here's my interpretation. Leon told me that he considers it superior to his own, but to his defense I must admit that I looked up reference images on the Internet while he drew them from his memory.
